Tiger Woods turning down 75 million dollar endorsement to Paddy Poker

The past few months have not been too great for Tiger Woods. After news of his multiple affairs came out in the news the golfer who is a sex addict has lost a lot of money in endorsements. Tiger Woods is a star in the game of golf but after the whole story of his affairs came out in the open his sponsors took away a major chunk of his earnings by dumping him. The major sponsors who left Woods are AT&T, Gatorade, the famous Swiss watch company, Tag Heuer and Gillette.

Due to all this Woods turned down an offer worth 75 million dollars which was offered to him by bookies Power Paddy as he thought the dead was not very profitable. The question is that how can an offer worth that amount not be profitable to someone?

Ken Robertson is the PR Manager for Paddy Power and he said that the company was a huge brand in the international market and had one of the biggest networks in the world. Tiger Woods is a big brand in himself and Power Paddy made a generous offer to him, but IMG which is Wood’s management company conveyed to the company that the offer was rejected by the golf star.

Tiger Woods had a well crafted image and before the scandal as reports suggest, he earned a whooping amount of $110 million by doing endorsements. The company which contributed $30 million is Nike and with this they became the highest paying company for Woods. Reports also suggest that Tiger Woods because of the whole episode lost about $150 million because of prize money, endorsements and the appearance fees. Considering such huge losses it is very hard to believe and to understand that why the $75 million endorsement offer was not accepted by Tiger Woods. The deal was a deal for five years and after Tiger Woods declined it Paddy Power said that they will return to the table with a sum of money bigger than this. Tiger Woods’ wife Elin Nordegren has agreed to move back with him so sources suggest that at this point he is focusing on getting his life back on track rather than doing endorsements as suggested by sources. Why the deal was refused by the ace golf player is still a mystery and there will be definitely be a lot of speculation about this.
