In 2006, Dustin Woolf (a.k.a. Neverwin) discovered poker hottie and Neverwin protégé, Chantel, “turning her into a full-fledged Neverwoman,” says Bryan Micon, who is on Team Neverwin Poker with Dustin Woolf. Since then, there has been a lot of drama. Dustin Woolf breaks it down for Neverwin Poker blog readers in chronological order:
Early 2006 – Neverwin became engaged to his longtime girlfriend to wed in August that year.
March 2006 – Neverwin went on the Party Poker Million Cruise. Also on the cruise was Chantel, a 21-year-old poker player, who was also recently engaged to a young poker player. Chantel’s engagement went bad sometime on the cruise. In the meantime, hers and Neverwin’s paths crossed for the first time on the cruise. She developed a crush on him, thinking she had met the real man she was supposed to marry, but little did she know he was engaged already, as well. It was clearly a platonic friendship and apparently nothing happened to make anyone think differently, so Neverwin had no idea of her growing adoration of him.
Chantel 2006 Before
April 2006 – Chantel moved from Dallas to Las Vegas without ex-fiance where she bumped into Neverwin while playing poker at the Bellagio, her crush still flaming unbeknownst to him.
May 2006 – Chantel’s engagement was back on, and Neverwin told her he was engaged also, though they still anticipated seeing each other from time to time at Vegas tournaments… still platonic.
July 2006 – Chantel’s engagement was off again, for good. She confessed her love to Neverwin right in the middle of WSOP and, in a round-about way, asked him to break off his engagement so they could be more than friends.
August 2006 – Neverwin called off his engagement for the usual reasons and offered himself to Chantel; she accepted the offer.
September 2006 – Neverwin and Chantel went to the Borgata tournament in Atlantic City, where they were accused of collusion by her ex-fiance’s friend, 2 + 2 associate, and the news spread on the forums.
Now two years later, the drama still unfolds, with someone named newhizzles, a friend of Chantel, who kept his $50K+ in Chantel’s Ultimate Bet account. Newhizzle accused Neverwin of stealing his money and losing it on Ultimate Bet since he and Chantel were dating at the time the money disappeared..
Remnants of Chantel still haunt the lives of Team Neverwin Poker and the forum still buzzes about her when new pics of her surface. To stir up the drama even more, Neverwin recently posted a pseudo love letter to “Chantel if you’re reading this…” in which he recaps the best moment of their relationship, asking her to remember it, and accusing her of losing herself… etc.
Ultimately, the story ends with the news that Chantel has since had plastic surgery on her now 23-year-old face. See the before and after pics.
